Thibodaux came out of the 2010 gate slowly with a season-opening 3OT victory over McDonogh #35 being its only win in three pre-district games. The Tigers had big tests in their first two 8-AAAAA games - trying as they might to overcome several key injuries and two undefeated opponents in the Terrebonne Tigers and South Terrebonne Gators. Thibodaux played hard but came up short in both contests. On the Monday after the Terrebonne game, Coach Lorio stated via email, "(It's been a) challenging time of much adversity. You know we will work hard to turn it around."
The Tigers won their next three games before closing out the district schedule with three second-half turnovers in an ugly loss to their parish rivals, South Lafourche; before a season-ending defeat on the road versus St. Augustine. Prior to the game, Coach Lorio made these comments about his team's playoff chances to Daily Comet Staff Writer Teddy Renois: "We are going have to (make the playoffs) the hard way . . . (having to) go on the road against (St. Aug). History says that our kids will give it their best shot. I don't think we gave it our best shot against South Lafourche."
