2013 Season

The Tigers were 1-1 with slow starts against Archbishop Shaw and Vandebilt. Trailing 14-7 at the half of their season opener, Thibodaux rallied with three second half TDs and a defensive shutout in a 27-14 win over the Shaw Eagles.  Another 20-point second half wasn't enough in week two as Vandebilt Catholic built in insurmountable lead and held on in Houma, 27-20.

The Assumption Mustangs were next on the schedule and from the outset, it was clear that this wasn't the same team that won a close one in Napoleonville last season, 26-22.  The Tigers mauled the Mustangs in a completely one-sided game - a 28-0 lead after one quarter, adding another 28 points in the second and third quarters, and ultimately claiming a 63-0 victory - scoring the most points by either time in the all-time series and biggest blowout win.

Thibodaux would go undefeated against the four "Bayou" teams in District 7-AAAAA (H.L. Bourgeois, Terrebonne, South and Central Lafourche), but couldn't beat the "River" Parish teams (Hahnville, Destrehan and East St. John).  Following impressive wins over SL (52-28) and CL (37-14) to close out the regular season, the 6-4 Tigers earned a #23 seed and were off to play #10 Zachary (7-3) in the first round of the 2013 playoffs.  It ended up being the best game of the year for our boys, but unfortunately, one that would have them coming up a few points short of advancing.  Thibodaux grabbed the lead briefly late in the third quarter, 34-29.  But the Broncos outscored the Tigers the rest of the way ending an exciting game (43-40) and a winning season (6-5) - the Tigers first since 2009.
