2014 Season

For the first time since 2008, Thibodaux opened the season with five straight wins!  The '08 Tigers went 10-0 before a season ending playoff loss in Lake Charles.

This year's Tigers opened the season with a come-from-behind win versus Archbishop Shaw, and followed it with non-district wins over Vandebilt and Assumption.  Our Tigers put some bad history between Thibodaux and Hahnville behind them when the teams opened district play on Sept. 26.  For the first time since 1989, Thibodaux went to Hahnville and won!  Our Tigers were victorious, 19-16, and notched a second District 7-AAAAA win over H.L. Bourgeois, 41-23.

In what many called the best regular season game of 2014, the Tigers hosted the Destrehan Wildcats in week #6 – with both teams at 5-0 and ranked in the 5-A top ten.  The game was tied at 14 with less than a minute to play when the Wildcats' Will Mathews burst through the Thibodaux defense to give second-ranked Destrehan a hard fought 21-14 win.

THS bounced back to win four straight – trouncing Terrebonne and defeating East St. John for the first time since 1992, shutting out South Lafourche in week #9 (35-0), and bringing it home with a solid 54-14 win over Central Lafourche in the final game of the regular season.

The Tigers made it five-in-a-row and another dominating win over Captain Shreve in the first round of the 2014 playoffs, but had their season end the following week in Baton Rouge.  Thibodaux took to the road to face a tough Scotlandville Hornets team in the capital city, falling behind early, 21-zip, and doing everything it could to prevent an inevitable loss and the end of an outstanding 10-2 football season.
